Safeguarding
At Windsor Girls’ School we take safeguarding and child protection very seriously. Students have a right to feel and be safe and secure in school; they cannot learn effectively unless they are. We make every effort to provide a safe and welcoming environment underpinned by a culture of openness and mutual respect that encourages students to talk to us and feel confident that they will be listened to.
We recognise that the culture we create has a huge impact on young people, both during the day at school and in adulthood. We are vigilant and alert to signs of abuse and potential harm and we follow our procedures to ensure that all children in our school receive effective support and protection. This includes us always remembering that ‘it could happen here’.
All staff take part in safeguarding training. This includes a reminder of our legal responsibilities; vigilance to the signs and symptoms that something is not quite right, and how we act upon concerns quickly and effectively. Staff complete additional training courses which include Child on Child Abuse, Prevent, E-Safety and Child Protection. Visitors to our school are expected to sign in at reception and to read our Safeguarding information which is given to them on arrival. Visitors are supervised at all times whilst on our site.
To report a safeguarding concern during school hours Monday to Friday, 8am – 4:00pm, please contact safeguarding@windsorgirls.net
