Welcome to Windsor Schools Sixth Form

We are proud to offer a fully co-educational state Sixth Form in the heart of Windsor, where ambition is nurtured and independence encouraged. Windsor Schools Sixth Form offers one ambitious and supportive community, built on a shared vision of high expectations and outstanding opportunity for every student. Students learn in dedicated, specialist spaces designed for high-quality teaching, learning and private study, with timetabled study periods that help them build the independent habits needed for university and employment.

Windsor Schools Sixth Form offers over 30 academic and vocational courses, delivered through a broad and balanced curriculum by passionate subject specialists. Our co-educational classrooms are spaces where collaboration, debate and inclusion are championed, and where every student is known, supported and challenged to achieve their best.

Outside the classroom, Windsor Schools Sixth Form offers an extensive range of enrichment opportunities, covering sporting, artistic, academic and community activities. From the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, the performing arts and our Year 12 enrichment programme to societies and volunteering, there is something for everyone. Our students are role models and young leaders. Through our Student Leadership Team they champion student voice, support younger pupils with their reading and help shape the life of the Sixth Form.

Developing successful, well-rounded, resilient and compassionate individuals through our focus on personal development is our ultimate goal. Strong pastoral care and a tailored personal development programme help every student thrive, and Ofsted found that our students “are happy and feel valued”, building “supportive relationships with staff, which they see as a strength of their experience”. We relish watching our students grow, while making sure they are driven and challenged to be the very best version of themselves.

Our Sixth Form continues to grow. This year 250 students enrolled with us, 60 more than last year, and we now have over 400 students aged 16–18. This growth reflects the confidence families place in our Sixth Form and lets us offer specialist teaching and outstanding opportunity after Year 11.

Our results show strong outcomes across both academic and vocational pathways. On our vocational courses, performance is well above national averages: 80% of BTEC grades were Distinction* to Merit, compared with 63.8% nationally, and 99% of students achieved a pass or above. At A level, 79.6% of grades were A*–C, above the national figure of 77.7%.

Careers education runs throughout the two years, so students make informed decisions about their next steps. We are proud to see them progress to a wide range of universities, apprenticeships and employment, including the most competitive destinations. Many keep in touch to share their successes and contribute to the life of our Sixth Form as alumni. As Ofsted recognised, our students “leave the sixth form resilient, independent and well prepared for education, employment or training.”
