Welcome
Welcome from the Heads of Sixth Form
We are proud to have developed a fully co-educational state Sixth Form in the heart of Windsor, where ambition is nurtured, and independence encouraged. Students study and socialise across the two sites of The Windsor Boys’ School and Windsor Girls’ School in dedicated and specialised spaces conducive to outstanding teaching and learning and private study. In the classroom, over 30 subjects are delivered via a curriculum which is broad and balanced, and in a co-educational space where collaboration, debate and inclusion are championed. Outside of the classroom, the combined resources of both sites offer the widest range of enrichment opportunities possible, encompassing a huge range of sporting, artistic and academic endeavours. Developing the successful, well-rounded, resilient but compassionate individual through our focus on personal development is our ultimate goal and we relish watching our students grown and thrive in a supportive environment, whilst ensuring they are driven and challenged to be the very best version of themselves.
With over 400 students aged 16-18 studying with us we can offer specialist teaching and outstanding opportunity post-year 11. We enjoy watching a large number of our students proceed to university and are proud to send them to a huge range of further education providers, including the most competitive ones. They keep in touch to tell us of their successes and to contribute to the life of the schools as alumni. Students thrive in our Sixth Form and results place us regularly in the top 15-25% of national providers for progress. We recognise that education is for the whole person and for life and thus, aside from academic successes, life-long interests, habits and friendships are formed in our Sixth Form. Students are relied upon to be role models and young leaders and the prefect teams are responsible for organising events and championing pupil voice, ensuring our students become increasingly responsible. We retain a very significant percentage of our own students but welcome students wishing to join us at 16 from other schools and to this end we welcome applications from both internal and external students who are interested in joining the Windsor Schools Sixth Form.
The two years you choose to spend in the sixth form may define your future, and choosing to enter the sixth form is a privilege. Embracing all that it has to offer will ensure you have the best possible chance of becoming the best you can be. We welcome you warmly and look forward to showing you all that our sixth form has to offer,
Miss C. Grainger, Acting Sixth Form Leader, Windsor Girls’ School and Mr O. Woods, Head of Sixth Form, The Windsor Boys’ School
